In my 30\u2019s I belonged to the Newport Sail Club, not the yacht club however.&nbsp; I graduated from their academy and was then able to rent sailboats. I learned to navigate with charts, a compass and the other navigational tools. I never raced and I\u2019ve never set a spinnaker. I was an efficient sailor though in boats up to 35\u2019. The club did not like teaching spinnakers for some reason. Most of our downwind runs were reaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here I am 25 years later and forgot most of the stuff except for the points of sail and sail trim. I have spare time and love sailing.
