Welcome to the 1st DWYC Mixology Class. Tonight, we will be covering the following topics:

  1. 3 Garnishes
  2.  2 Drinks

Followings is suggested equipment for

Garnishes:

Vegetable peeler, paring knife, zester/channel knife, small bowl, fork or something to mix with, measuring spoons, small baggie and picks.

Drinks:

Muddler, Cocktail shaker, strainer, Martini Glass, Old Fashion Glass.

Following are ingredients needed (quantity is for one (1) serving so multiply accordingly):

Garnishes:

2 lemons

1 lime

1 jar Queen-size Pitted green Olives (can share) (Not using as a garnish tonight but makes a good appy  or snack)

2 oz whipped cream cheese

3 oz crumbled blu cheese (or Gorgonzola)

2t. fresh thyme

1/2t ground black pepper

Drinks:

Ice

3 oz Vodka

3 oz House made sour (1-part lemon juice, 1-part lime juice, 2-parts simple syrup [1-part sugar, 1-part water, heated until sugar dissolved [or you can buy it in a bottle])

2 ea. Strawberries,

½ oz strawberry puree (I use Hansen’s Nectar)

3-4 fresh basil leaves

 ¼ oz Triple Sec

¼ oz simple syrup (see House made sour) (optional)

1 oz Kahlua

1-1/5 oz espresso (I just make a cup of strong coffee) cooled

3 coffee beans (optional for garnish)

superfine sugar for glass rim (spin ¼ C regular sugar in spice or coffee grinder, blender or mini food processor)

Grocery List:

lemon, lime, pitted green olives, whipped cream cheese, blue cheese, thyme, black pepper, vodka, house or store bought sour, strawberries, strawberry puree, basil leaves, triple sec, simple syrup, Kahlua, espresso (or strong coffee, chilled), super fine sugar
